Parks within Toxteth
Three parks have their lands entirely within the area covered. These are :-
All have lakes and each of the lakes is fed by a different stream, two in the case of Sefton Parks. The three parks are very different in origins and histories and are each dealt with individually.
A very small part of Wavertree playground (‘The Mystery’) arguably also lies within the original Toxteth boundary.
The more recently created Otterspool Park lies more or less all within Toxteth and will be covered in sections devoted to later centuries.
